‘Untold Stories’ – interviews with remarkable women writers

In this series of on-line interviews I introduce women writers who have uncovered hidden family stories or written a biography of a creative life. How they each came to write their books is almost as interesting as the books themselves.
Hosted by the National Women’s Register but open to anyone, free.
Thursdays @ 7pm – 2022 dates and booking details to be announced.

Forthcoming interviews, 2022
January – Merilyn Brason on The Bamboo Bracelet: a true story – her parents’ WW2 story of being in a Japanese internment camp in the Philippines
March – Lyn Innes on The Last Prince of Bengal: a family’s journey from an Indian palace to the Australian outback
April – Elisabeth Conway on A Strand of Gold, a novel set in Singapore in 1822

Past interviews, 2021:
September – Judy Simons on The Northern Line
October —Helen Marquard on The Musical Life: Hedwig Stein, emigrée pianist
December — Martha Leigh on Invisible Ink: a family memoir

  1. Thoroughly enjoyed Marion’s Q & A session with a group of local readers, followed the next day by an inspirational workshop, presented in Marion’s generous and gentle way, think about why writing matters, and what we all have to share from our own life experience.
